Streamlining Bulk Data Management

Importing, exporting, and manipulating bulk data.

Importing Data

Data needs to be structured in a particular way for a successful data import. This begins by exporting the data Template.

Note: Any module supporting imports will have a unique template catered to the data in that module.

The template will be sent to the email address associated with the current user. Please populate the corresponding columns with your data as accurately as possible.

Once you have completed your templates, they are ready for import into Fyxt. Please note that the files must be in either CSV or .xlsx format. To begin the import process, click on the import icon located in the top right corner of the relevant table. You will then be prompted to upload your completed template and verify that the column mappings are accurate. After selecting "Next," you will be guided through a verification step to ensure that all data in the template conforms to the accepted formats. When your document is properly prepared for import, the right section of your screen will refresh, indicating that you can proceed with the final import.

Exporting Data

The export process is much simpler. Simply click the export icon and select Export View.

Manipulating Data

To manipulate bulk data you will need to utilize both the import and export functions. Begin by exporting the relevant table view that contains the data you intend to alter. After exporting, make the necessary adjustments to the specific fields that require changes. For instance, if you need to update the square footage of properties that have recently undergone capital improvements, you would export a view that includes those properties, adjust the "Total Sq. Ft" values as needed, and then re-upload the modified document.

Be careful to avoid changing "ID" values when manipulating bulk data, as this will either create entirely new data records with the new ID you enter, or replace data of an existing record matching the ID you enter.

Bulk Data Management by Module

Modules which support bulk data management are

  1. Jobs: supporting imports, exports, and manipulating data.
  2. Properties: supporting imports and exports only.
  3. COI: supporting imports, exports, and manipulating data.
  4. Planned Services: supporting imports, exports, and manipulating data
